Joan Ruth Hathaway

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our mother Joan at Muskoka Landing, Huntsville at the age of 86. Born in Baysville the only child of Joseph Rutt and Louisa Rutt (Davis). Joan married her true love after many years together on June 20, 1981. The love they had for one another so strong. Joan and Charles had three. children; Mary Brown, Richard Hathaway and Janet Hathaway (Aron).

Joan was a loving grandma to three grand children; Roxanne Brown (Ernie), Meagen Holden (Alex) and Katelynn Hathaway. and four great grand children.

Our mother was also known as a hard worker. She worked at Deerhurst Resort for many years in the housekeeping department. She also worked at the old hospital in the kitchen and housekeeping in the old Empire Building. She later went on to do her own business of cleaning homes and offices , wich she enjoyed.

After retirement, you could find her outside in her flower gardens or inside her oil paintings or reading her Bible to Dad. She also had a big love of for animals and that was no secret, she would take in any stray cat she could, and would also feed any wild life that showed up to her house as well.

She had the biggest heart and love for all her family and friends.

She was a beautiful lady with a heart of gold, loving and kind. She also had the biggest smile that would light up the room. She even smiled in her final years.

The family would like to thank Muskoka Landing for the love and care Mom received in the last twelve and a half years.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 High Street, Huntsville on Monday, March 4 , 2024 at 1 pm, with visitation starting at 12 noon. Spring interment at Yearley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Aspden Wildlife Sanctuary would be appreciated
