Andre "Andy" Alexander Longpre

On the evening of January 19th, 2020 after a long and courageous battle, Andy Longpre passed away surrounded by love, with all of his children at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital.

Born to the late Jean-Guy and Lola Longpre on September 11th, 1956 in Kapuskasing, Ontario, Andy spent his early childhood here before moving to Huntsville and graduating from Huntsville High School. Andy continued on to graduate from Guelph University and then to Mount Allison University to complete his teaching certificate. 

Forever remembered for his endless charisma, humour and warmth; Andy impacted the lives of so many, as a loving father, dedicated teacher, avid volunteer and accomplished athlete. 

Andy is survived by his five children, Ben, Jon, Kyle (Meghan), Laura (Kody) and Kristy. Beloved brother of Christine (Jim), Melinda (Dennis), Louise (Bob), Peter (Brenda) and Nelson (Pat). Fondly remembered by his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family and many friends. 

A celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 232, 21 Veteran’s Way, Huntsville on Saturday February 8th, 2020 from 1 pm - 4 pm, remembrances to begin at 2:30 pm. All are welcomed to attend. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Fairvern New Build Campaign would be greatly appreciated by the family.
