Charlotte Anne Collins
Charlotte Anne Collins - Born April 19, 1936 in St. Thomas, ON, Passed away at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. Predeceased by her parents and her husband Vern Collins. She is survived by two sisters Mary Boyce and Elizabeth Little and ex-husband Murray Watson. She was a devoted mother to John (Wendy) Watson, Jay (Liz) Watson, Liz (Gord) Whitelaw, Mike (Trish) Watson. Charlotte adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and looked forward to visits and Facetime chats. She was able to enjoy many special occasions even if it was over the computer.
She never judged, never questioned but always loved and supported no matter what the issue was. She was MOM. Charlotte taught her children that everyone is created equal and deserves to be treated with respect and kindness. She often donated her time to fundraising for local charities and doing whatever was possible for others who she felt could use a helping hand from time to time. She was employed by Simcoe County Board of Education where she worked as a secretary at many different levels. Charlotte was quite often like one of the family in many cases and took children under her wing that needed that little bit of extra care.
Charlotte was a very artistic person who created many gorgeous projects whether it be painting, cross-stitch, knitting, or gardening. She was a great cook and loved to share her treats with friends. You never left her home empty handed.
We know that Charlotte would have loved to have her life celebrated as she made the most of every minute. Many of the girls that work with her daughter have accepted hand-me-downs from her and joke that they had been shopping at the new store in town “Charlotte’s Closet”.
Her memory will live on with us forever and she will be sadly missed, but happily remembered by all who had the opportunity to know her.
