Edna Crosson- Bibby (nee Smith)

With heavy hearts and much love, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend Edna Pearl Geraldine Crosson. On Wednesday July 21, 2021 Edna ("Gerri") of Huntsville gained her wings at the age of 94 surrounded by family at Algonquin Grace Hospice, Huntsville.

 She will lovingly be remembered by her children Pauline Darlington & husband Bob, Paul Bibby, Pam Bibby and Gary Bibby & wife Karen.  Grandchildren Shawn & Tammy, Jennifer & Geoff, Jodie & David, Angie & Dave, John Bibby.  Great Grandchildren: Charlie, Sarah & Helen, Julian, Samantha & Jessica, Madison, Kylie & Joshua

 Predeceased by husband Roy Crosson & great grandchild Peter, Sisters Grace & Reta and 2 baby brothers

 Edna was born in Baysville, Ontario on August 30, 1926 to Tom and Mary Smith. 

Growing up on their family farm. She enjoyed work in her early years at Bigwin Island, a Farmerette in Grimsby, selling Avon and found her passion later on as a Nurses Aid for over 40 years at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital.   Edna resided in Huntsville since 1949 purchasing a family home for their 4 children with first husband Arnold Bibby . 

She found love and married Roy Crosson and absolutely loved camping with him over the many years shared together at Algonquin Park & Tea Kettle campground with their dogs. She loved and took pride in time spent with family and friends very dearly. Also loved her cat Sammy who also mourns her passing today.  Known for her hardworking nature, kindness, strength, compassion, humour and spiritual beliefs.  She always enjoyed her knitting and baking.  A loving family member and dear friend.  

Cremation has taken place. Service/Celebration of her life to take place on Thursday July 29th, at 1pm at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 1 High Street, Huntsville. 

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial gifts to Alzheimer's Society.
