Martha Jean (Mardi) Fisher
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martha Jean (Mardi) Fisher on August the 1st 2021.
Mardi passed away peacefully with her partner in life by her side, Joe Sammut.
Mardi was born in Toronto and was the fourth child of Ada and Robert Fisher.
She grew up in the village of Port Sydney, On. She spent a short time in British Columbia then returned home to settle in Newholm with her partner Joe Sammut.
Mardi was a talented hairstylist and enjoyed meeting and getting to know her clients, many of whom became lifelong friends.
She could be found Saturday nights in the mall parking lot enjoying and getting to know people who came to their car and bike club. Muskoka Knights.
She truly loved working in her gardens, growing vegetables and flowers.
Mardi had a special place in her heart for animals. She loved the wild ones that came to her feeders as much as she loved the ones she rescued.
1n 1991 they bought their first dump truck. It was the beginning of a successful business (Joe's Haulage) that they own and operate together.
Mardi will be missed by, her love and partner in life, Joe Sammut.
Brothers Bill (Merrilee), Bob (Pat), nephew Mike, nieces Kathy (Scott), Bonnie (Chris), Grand nieces Mikayla, Chantel and Grand Nephews John and Wyatt.
Extended family, Joe and Katie Sammut, MaryAnn Sammut, Patsy Brown, and Tim Sammut.
Predeceased by parents, Ada and Robert Fisher, Brother Doug, Sister-in-Law Gail and Nephew Kevin.
Mardi will be sadly missed by her many friends, too many to try to mention.
