Concetta Fuscaldo

On Jan 13, 1951, in the small village of Trenta, Cozenza Italy,  Concetta was born. The oldest daughter of Rita and Emilio Valente.

She was born at a time, after the war, when most people knew and understood that family above all else was something to cherish.

She was 17 , attending school to become a teacher,  when she made the difficult decision to leave her Parents and her sisters Carmelina, Maria Pia, Marina and Paola , and immigrate to Canada as a young woman on March 13, 1968.

Once in Canada , she met and fell in love with Giovanni Fuscaldo. They were married on Sept 13, 1969. 

Their first child, Donato was born a few years later in 1973 , followed by their Daughter Lisa in 1978.
She spent this stage of her life embracing her role as Mother and wife.

When Donato and Jeanie , Lisa and Alon began their own families, and with the arrival of Gio, Alex, Aydyn,  Grace,  Sophia , Tiya and Victoria,  she became Nonna.

She lived this next stage of her life with her grandchildren as the center of her universe.

Whether you knew her as Mom,  Nonna,  Connie or Concetta,  she was a beacon of light amid the darkest days.

Although we are heartbroken,  each of us are blessed because we were loved by her.
She will be loved and adored today,  tomorrow and for all eternity.
We will honor her life with the beautiful memories we created.
