Pearline May Russell
Pearline May Russell passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 8, 2022 in her 85th year, at Fairvern Nursing Home.
She is survived by her loving children, Michelle (Greg) and Rupert (Sondra). Pearl will be missed by her cherished grandchildren, Tamara, Aaron, Jarred, Ieshia (Chrystian), Dominique, Shanice, great-grandchildren Alayiah, Kaia’Mae, Allyana, and Amari. She is survived by siblings Carl Campbell, Myrna Dixon (Barry), Sylvia Ashley, Roy Campbell (Joy), Phillip Campbell, Tony Campbell, and Donavon Campbell.
Pearl was born in Oracabessa, St Mary, Jamaica and is predeceased by her husband Rupert Oliver Russell Sr., mother Tatlin Louise Campbell, father Phillip George Campbell, and sister Laurel Sutherland.
She was a graduate of Westwood High School in Jamaica. She then immigrated to Los Angeles, California where she went on to pursue a diploma as a Dentist Assistant at Lawton School of Medical-Dental Assistants. Pearl lived in the United States for over 15 years, and then moved to Canada. In 1983, she completed her certificate as a Personal Support Worker and worked in that field until she retired.
Pearl loved travelling. She travelled back and forth to Jamaica and California visiting family and friends. She also went to England and Hawaii. During her latter years, she joined a Senior’s Club where they travelled all over Ontario enjoying the food, theatres, and all the joys of her life. Pearl was a kind and gentle soul. She also had a strong belief in faith that carried her throughout her life.
Many thanks to the kind and compassionate nurses, staff, and fellow friends in the Dialysis Unit at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital. Also, a huge show of gratitude to all the nurses, personal support workers, and other members during her short stay at Fairvern Nursing Home. Thank you for the dignity that all of you showed towards her.
A Memorial Service will be held for her immediate family and invited guests at Mitchell Funeral Home on Monday, May 16, 2022, at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Dialysis Unit at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital and Fairvern Nursing Home would be appreciated.
