Mary Joan Rutty

Just two weeks short of her 96th birthday, Mary left this world with three of her grandchildren at her side.

Mary came to Huntsville about ten years ago from Burlington, where she had spent over thirty happy years with her second husband Lorm Rutty.  

One of her favourite things to do in the summer was to go out in the boat and cruise around the lake enjoying the scenery and the wind on her face. If she had to be indoors, then playing cards was a great way to enjoy spending time with friends. She had a child like spirit right to the end, travelling abroad well into her 90’s with the family.

She loved to laugh and with a touch of mischief, encouraged others to join in on the fun. She truly had a twinkle in her eye. We will surely miss sharing the joy of living with her.

Consistent with Mary’s wishes and her sincere appreciation for the excellent care and comfort provided by the South Wing Hospital nurses and staff, donations, on her behalf, may be made to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation.
