Marlene Anne Keyes "Mardi"

The family is heartbroken to share the news of Mardi’s sudden passing on October 8th, 2024. Mardi was the youngest of 8 children. Born in Toronto. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, nana, friend and dedicated teacher to many.

Mardi’s teaching career spanned many years and in between teaching she also sold real estate and worked in banking. Mardi was always involved in the church and enjoyed her time with the CWL and many other community activities.

She was a passionate bridge player and loved her outings with friends in town. She was a lifelong friend to her Burlington girls group and enjoyed all their annual antics.

The family takes solace in knowing Mardi is now with her best friend and loving husband Gerry who predeceased her in 2021.

She leaves behind her two sons David (Cathy) and Brian (Joan). Two beautiful granddaughters Brook (Mac), Samantha (Jamie) and her adored grandson Charlie. She was a loving step Nana to Kelly, Nicole (Justin) and Michael.

Mardi was also an extremely proud great Nana to Jackson, Nora, Addy and Ty.

She loved her family fiercely and with all of her heart. She instilled the importance of family in us all.

We would like to thank all of our extended family and friends for your heartfelt wishes and support during this time.

Until we meet again, we love you. Rest well Mardi.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 12 Centre Street, South, Huntsville on Friday. October 18, 2024 at 2 p.m. A private family interment will be held at a later date.

Donations may be made to Huntsville hospital foundation or a charity of your choice.
