Irene Ellen Green (née Snelling)

February 23, 1932 – August 30, 2024

Irene Green peacefully passed away at home on Friday, August 30th, 2024. She is survived by her daughter, Pauline Grimes, and her husband Larry Grimes; her son, William Green; her granddaughter, Karen Grimes; her grandson, Stephen Grimes, and his wife, Jenna Grimes.

Predeceased by her two older sisters, Elva Clark and Mickey Wilson from Hamilton, Ontario.

Irene  made a significant contribution to her community; delivering Meals on Wheels, and was a dedicated volunteer, serving the United Church, Huntsville Seniors, and Housing Organizations for many years.  In her leisure time, Irene enjoyed playing cards with friends and family.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to Irene's cousin and former companion, Norman Carpenter (deceased), and his daughter, Kelly Andrews, for their unwavering kindness and support.

Irene's ashes will be interred at  Hutcheson Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Mitchell Funeral Home.

A public service will not be held. Donations to a charity of your choice are gratefully accepted in lieu of flowers.
