Shirley Marie McDermid

The family would like to announce the passing of Shirley Marie McDermid.

Shirley was born in Huntsville, ON November 12, 1927 to Nelson and Adelaide Head and Passed on February 16, 2025 at Muskoka Shores Nursing Home in Gravenhurst, On.

Shirley was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Hugh McDermid (August 1980) and by her younger brother William Head.

Survived by her sons, Stephen, James and Peter (Magali). By grandchildren Sean (Liana), Meaghan (Steyn), Tristan and Dylan. Her great granddaughter Maya. Her sisters Joyce and Joan, sister in law Aldine Head as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mom was a good soul who loved walking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the bush behind her house.

The family would like to extend our most heartfelt gratitude to the management and wonderful staff at Muskoka Shores Nursing Home for their above and beyond car of Mom.

Forever in our hearts and always in our memories.

Reunited with the lover of her life, Hugh.

In respect of Mom’s wishes there will be no service, cremation has taken place.
