Doris Evelyn Monahan (nee Orr)

Doris Monahan died peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, April 14, 2025.

Doris is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert (Bob) and their children Paul (Carol), Morris (Charlene), Kim (Derek), Donna, Don (Brenda) and Gary. Doris also leaves behind her grandchildren, Matthew, Amy, Adam, Sarah, Karley, Rachel, Paige, Chad, Corey, Nathan, Jordan, Graydon, Amanda, Megan, Kelsey, Alyvia and Amelia and several great grandchildren.

Doris was an educator in her role as mother, grandmother, great grandmother, teacher, school board trustee, school board chair, member of the church council and presbytery.

In addition to time spent with family and friends, at her home or theirs, Doris also enjoyed quilting, genealogy and spending time at the pool with her friends.  One of her favourite pastimes was sitting quietly in the den with Bob reading unless her grandchildren stopped by to play dominoes.

Doris will be greatly missed by family and friends and anyone lucky enough to have tasted her chocolate eclairs.

A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity United Church, 33 Main Street, East, Huntsville on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 11a.m. A reception will follow in Trinity Hall.
