Norma Doreen Morrow
On April 9th, our family said goodbye to Norma Morrow—our Mom, our Grammy, our Great-Grammy, and the heart of our family. She was our matriarch, our storyteller, our soft place to land.
Norma is predeceased by her husband, Gerry Morrow, sister Eleanor Inwood and brother Ralph Clark. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Kelley (Richard) Janssen and Tracy Decent (Craig Hancock), granddaughters Emily Janssen (Josh Keating) and Meghan (Mac) Dunstan, great-grandson Clarke Dunstan, and nieces and nephews.
Born in Toronto, Norma lived a life full of warmth, adventure, and love. From cottaging at Woodland Beach, to dancing at Casa Loma, to moving to Bracebridge to raise her family. Norma embraced every chapter with joy and strength. Alongside her husband Gerry, she ran The Hub and later the family marina on Lake Muskoka.
Norma was the definition of grace and generosity. She was known for her warm hugs, her selfless heart, her impeccable style, her incredible memory and her unforgettable pastry and pies.
More than anything, Norma was made to be a mother. She said it herself—and she lived it fully. She loved deeply, supported endlessly, and showed up constantly. Her love was the kind that shaped generations. What an incredible privilege it was to be one of her girls.
Our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to her doctors and nurses who supported her in her final chapter. As well as to the incredible team at Roger’s Cove who became our family. Your kindness and care meant the world to us. Thank you for going above and beyond to make her final days peaceful and filled with dignity. A final thanks to Norma’s best friends Myrna and Lenore.
Though we miss her terribly, we know she’s somewhere dancing again with a pie in the oven and a story at the ready.
Honoring Norma’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
