Marion Helen Nickalls

In the warmth of her own home, surrounded by family, Marion Helen Nickalls passed away February 23rd, 2024.

Marion and Bill were married on January 28th, 1961. Our parents spent many years travelling and enjoying their life together. We take great comfort in knowing that they are now together again.

Mom will be deeply missed by her children Lee Anne (Darrell), Lori (John), Karen (Steve), and Grant (Debbie).  Adored by her grandchildren Brendan (Meagan), Megan (Russel), Tyler (Jenna), Brayden,  Tanner (Michelle), Jack, Ryan (Kristie), Lauren (Josh), and Kristen (Chris).  A special G.G. to Harper, Lillian, William, Lauchlin, Ciarin, Clarke, Cooper and Noah.

Marion was a cherished sister to Angela and predeceased by her brother Edwin.

Remembered fondly by her extended family and friends.

Mom was born in Huntsville on May 15th, 1939.  She attended school in Huntsville and graduated from nursing training in Orillia in 1960.  Although Mom retired from nursing in 1970 she continued to provide care for others with kindness and compassion throughout her life.

Mom touched many lives through her community work as she was always willing to step in and help; whether it be feeding children at breakfast club, baking for church functions, or driving people to appointments.  Mom’s love and dedication to her family, friends and community was evident daily. She was a supportive friend to so many and cherished each of those relationships. Her door was always open and she welcomed everyone.

Regardless of what was going on in Mom’s life, her inner strength always shone through and she lived life to its fullest.

Our family is grateful for the excellent care and compassion received from the staff at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (Huntsville), The Hope Huntsville Palliative Team, Home and Community Care, Closing the Gap, and Paramed.

Visitation will be held at Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 High Street, Huntsville on Friday March 1st, from 2pm to 4pm.

Service will be held at All Saints’ Anglican Church, 30 High Street, Huntsville, on Saturday March 2nd, at 11am.

Family and friends are invited to The Mill on Main, immediately following the service, 50 Main St. E., Huntsville,  from 12:30pm to 2:30pm.

As a nurse, Mom’s life revolved around helping others, therefore donations to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care) or a charity of your choice, would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers.

Mom, you will be deeply missed.
