Gloria Marie Hartwick

Gloria passed peacefully into her next life on Wednesday August 7th, 2019 at Algonquin Grace Hospice in Huntsville. Gloria had just celebrated her 87th birthday. She is pre-deceased by her beloved husband Don, and her parents Granville and Irene Snaire.

 Gloria loved her family dearly, especially her 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She cherished her many long and special friendships. Gloria is survived by her two children and their loving families. She was the proud mother of Karen (Rogers) and her husband Rick, their children Tyler (Lane), his wife Samantha and their sons Lincoln and Denver; and Kaila (Hill) and husband Howie, and their children Annabelle and Gerrit. Gloria was a caring and proud mom to her son Darryl, his wife Pat and their son Corbin.

 Gloria’s special gift was her kindness, compassion and caring about the well-being of others. She had a passion for life’s simple pleasures: laughter, playing cards and board games, a good meal, loyal friendship, service to the community, and shopping for new clothes.

 She volunteered with countless organizations in the community including the Huntsville Skating Club, Lionesses, Red Hatters, Algonquin Theatre, and the Algonquin Grace Hospice. She was a fixture at Trinity United Church serving as its secretary-treasurer for 40 years before her retirement.

 A celebration of love and laughter for Gloria Hartwick will take place on Saturday August 17, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Church followed by a reception.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations to the Algonquin Grace hospice.
