Janet Gallaugher

Gallaugher: Janet surrounded by her loving family, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2020 at Fairvern Nursing Home, Huntsville, Ontario. Janet Gallaugher (nee Lowe) in her 86th year, beloved wife of Paul Robert Gallaugher,

Loving mother of Bob (Karen), Dave (Norma), Steven, Elizabeth (Martin) and Brian.

Dear grandmother to Gillian, Jody, Robbie, Derek, Ashley, Allison, Cassie, Kristina, Dana and Brianna. Great grandmother of Avery and Jack. Sadly missed by her siblings Raymond Lowe (June), Patricia Andersen (John) and Malcolm Lowe ( Marnie ). Predeceased by parents Len and Doris Lowe.

Born and raised in Nottingham, England, met Paul in Nottingham square with her best friend Dorothy while Paul was serving with the RCAF. Left England in 1954 on the Queen Mary to come to Canada to be with Paul. They were married April 7th, 1955 in Toronto, Ontario. First jobs in Canada were with Bell and Loblaws. In 1963 Janet and Paul built a cottage on Ripple lake just north of Huntsville, Ontario where they enjoyed cottage life until that little cottage was turned into a brand new home for retirement in 1988 on Ripple Lake. They enjoyed retirement with family and their many close friends. Janet was always the life of the party with her amazing singing voice. 

A graveside service will be held on Friday May 15, 2020 at 1:00 pm, located at Hutcheson Memorial Cemetery, Huntsville. A celebration of life to follow.
