Margaret Janssen

JANSSEN, Margaret (Gisbertha) Agatha (Kea) Born May 20th, 1935 in Weest, Netherlands – On December 7th, 2022 and in her 87th year, “Oma” passed away peacefully at The Pines Long Term Care Home in Bracebridge. Devoted mother of four boys: Anthony (Tony), Glenn, Jacobus (Jack) & Richard, she is remembered affectionately for her patience and good nature amidst a flurry of sporting events and dinner table shenanigans. Mom was always there with a smile for whatever we sent her way. Somehow she also found the time to be heavily involved in the family landscaping and garden center business. This incredible woman was so full of life. Whether it was skiing, swimming, dancing or cycling, she was a free spirit who loved to be in nature. She is warmly remembered by the daughters she gained in Terri & Kelley. Kelley affectionately cared for her for many years and was a rock for Oma and the family. Her grandchildren: Sarah, Derek, Emily, Meghan & Jasmine always brought a smile to her face. Preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius & Hubertha Kea, and siblings: Henry, Bep, Jerry, Gord, Agnes, Ed & Christina. Margaret is lovingly remembered by her brothers Bert, John, Lee, and sisters Aggie, Nellie & Lisa. A role model of determination and persistence, she demonstrated a penchant for independence and honorable traits for us to live by. A beautiful woman who was always impeccably put together, Margaret will fondly be remembered by all who met her for her love of life, her laughter and humour in any situation.  Many thanks for the support from the dedicated staff at the Pines to whom we are grateful. If desired, charitable donations can be made to The Pines Long Term Care Facility in Margaret’s memory (705-645-4488). A Celebration of Life will be held in Muskoka this summer when family and friends can gather together to pay tribute to Margaret.
