Diane Mary Theressa Groomes
It is with heavy hearts, the Family of Diane Mary Theressa Groomes announce her passing on July 26, 2022 peacefully at her home in Huntsville, Ontario in the presence of her family.
She will now reunite with her departed parents, Dennis and Rita Groomes, her precious nephews Quinton Groomes, Brady and Corey Groomes and sisters Shirley and Linda Cooper (Brian). Diane leaves behind her grieving family, her daughter Melanie Parks, son Corey Parks (Lesley) Grandchildren Jasmine Parks, Payten Temple, Jacob Hines, Laura and Megan Parks, Great Grandchildren Kylie Rose Hines and Braydon, Life Partner of 43 years Barry Parks, Brothers Robert (Carey/Elizabeth), Dennis (Jodi) and Doug (Kris) Groomes, and many nephews and nieces, as well as her many close and cherished friends.
Diane was born August 25, 1955 as a first child to parents Dennis and Rita (Yantha) Groomes, in Huntsville, Ontario. Diane attended school in Huntsville then met and later married Barry Parks on January 25, 1975. They bore a son Corey and a daughter Melanie and raised them also in Huntsville, Ontario. Over the years, Diane’s family continued to grow giving her 5 amazing Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. Diane’s family was always her primary focus and her love for her family was bountiful and endless.
Diane was a long-time valued employee of Community Living in Huntsville, Ontario and she was very committed and dependable and loved her caregiver role until her health would no longer allow her to perform her physically demanding role. Diane’s departure from her work was a difficult decision and unfortunately, she only was able to enjoy a short retirement before her health worsened.
Diane always loved her flower beds and could often be found down on her knees in the flower beds with dirt under every fingernails or creating fairy garden ornaments. Diane was often perusing the garden centers for deals or digging up something that caught her eye alongside the road or in the wilderness. She was always willing to share perennials and help you split yours to share. Diane was an avid Fairy Gardener, loved driftwood or anything unique she could transform into a garden treasure.
Diane fought a courageous but challenging battle with Cancer, some days were more challenging than others but she rarely complained and always had a smile on her face and words of encouragement for others.
Diane’s wishes were for a close family gathering at the Funeral Home followed by Cremation.
To honor Diane’s Life a Mass and Communion of Saints has been scheduled for August 9, 2022 at 2 pm at St Mary of the Assumption Parish, 12 Centre Street North in Huntsville, Ontario. The Family invite everyone to attend. Interment at Hutcheson Memorial Cemetery with her Parents immediately following the memorial service.
