Marsha Anne Parrott

Marsha Parrott passed away peacefully on September 15, 2022 at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital in her 85th year.  Born May 19th, 1937, in Huntsville, Ontario.  Predeceased by her husband George of 55 years. Loving mother of Mark (Wendy) and Tracy (Steve).   Loving grandmother of Aaron (Carrie) and Laura.  Cherished sister of Diane, Elizabeth, Suzanne (Bill) and Jeffrey (Lou-ann).

Marsha was a long-time employee of Bell Canada in Engineering and retired early at 55.  When George retired they moved back to Huntsville.  They joined the congregation at Trinity United church and soon began singing in the choir.  She loved to sing and actually sang the song “Me and My Gal” from her hospital bed a couple of days before her passing.  Marsha also began to do pencil drawings when she retired and crafted some beautiful art that her family cherishes.   Next to George and her family,  her other great love was golf.  We golfed many times at several of the small courses in the area but she loved the short course at Grandview the most.  Marsha was also a fantastic baker and made the best shortbread at Christmas.  She made at least 10 different cookies and squares and put them on a three tiered plate affectionately know as the pig tray.  She was very well read and enjoyed mysteries, historical fiction and crossword puzzles.

The family of Marsha wish to express sincere thanks to Dr. Helen Dempster and all of the staff on 2 East at Huntsville Hospital.  Your support and kindness will never be forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life on Saturday September 24th from 2pm to 4pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 232, 21 Veterans Way, Huntsville. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to Hospice Huntsville.
