Margaret Irene Faulkner
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Margaret, on October 20th. Margaret was the cherished daughter of Annie Amy (May) (1900–1984) and Robert James Murdock (1896–1934), and beloved wife of Lyle Hiller Faulkner (1923–2008). Born during the Great Depression, her life was a testament to her resilience, kindness, and unwavering spirit.
Margaret was the last surviving grandchild of Albion and Hannah May. She took pride in telling the many stories of her childhood in the Ravenscliffe community, surrounded by the May and Tipper families. Her roots were deep, having been born in the small rural town of Huntsville, Ontario, which she called home. Her love and warmth touched the lives of everyone she met.
She was a loving mother to Elizabeth (Marc) and Jay (Bev) and was predeceased by her son, Erik Robert Faulkner (July 18, 1947 - July 19, 1947) and her grandson Dylan Scott Shulman (1977- 2003). Her loving heart, gentle nature, and unwavering care for her family made her a cherished grandmother to Erik, Ian, Josh, and Adriana. As a great-grandmother, her legacy of love and warmth extended to many generations.
Her life was a journey of love, laughter, and adventure. She shared stories of growing up during the Depression, her experiences during World War II, and the cherished memories of traveling through Europe and the Middle East with her beloved husband, Lyle. Her values of hard work, humility, and gratitude were her foundation. She cared deeply for her family, and her warm smile and kind presence will be fondly remembered.
Rest in peace, dear mother. Your memory will never fade, and your love will be cherished forever.
In accordance with Margaret’s wishes, there will be no funeral or formal service. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date and shared with family and close friends.
