Beverley Joan Porter

It is with great sadness that the family of Beverley Joan Porter (nee Burgin) announce her passing on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

Bev lived a full and active 89 years, but as she would always say she was only 39.

Bev was born in Toronto on September 4, 1935 to Lillian and James Burgin where she lived until she met and married the love of her life Raymond and moved to Huntsville.

Over the years Bev was active in the community spending countless hours involved with The Order of the Eastern Star and volunteering as Santa’s helper when Ray donned his Santa Claus suit. Her professional career was primarily held as operator of the Licensing Bureau in Huntsville and Parry Sound.

Bev along with her husband Ray enjoyed summers at their cottage on Lake of Bays where many memories were made with family and friends.

Bev and Ray were a couple that were always together, were avid travellers, loved each other well, and were the best of friends.

Bev was predeceased by Ray in 2020 and will be fondly remembered with love by her niece Nancy (Keith), her great niece Megan (John) and their children Francis and Ray, her great nephew Adam (Kelly), and her extended family Lee Anne (Darrell), Lori (John), Karen (Steve), Grant (Debbie) and all of their children.

A special thank you to the staff of Huntsville District Memorial Hospital and the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, Bracebridge for their compassionate care of Bev during her final days.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.

A reception will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, July 26th from 11- 1pm

You were an unforgettable part of our lives Aunt Bev, we will miss you.
