Donna Elizabeth Reid

“I will hold you in my heart until I can hold you again in heaven”

On Thursday, March 10th, 2022, Donna passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. Her strength and resolve to fight cancer were an inspiration to many, defying the odds given, during her five-year battle of pancreatic cancer.

Donna was a very special person spreading kindness, laughing and loving, everywhere she went in life. Her beautiful blue eyes and smile and bigger than life personality was infectious and many that met her in life loved her dearly. She always seemed to know how to comfort people that confided in her and Donna’s moral compass, of right and wrong, was undeniable which made people value her no b.s. opinion and truly love her.

Donna loved life and lived to the fullest celebrating with family and friends at every opportunity. She had a creative artistic gift and always made sure special occasions and holidays were exceptional and not forgotten. Her favorite past times were travelling and spending time at the cottage with friends and family and experiencing mother nature and new surroundings.

Sadly, at age 49, she leaves behind her husband Lyndon, son Conner, sister Audra, brother-in-law Lou, her parents Randy and Liz and many loving friends and family.

“There are not enough tears to cry for you. There were not enough years to hold you and love you. As a mother, wife, sister and friend, your beauty and strength defined you and your courage inspired everyone around you. We will forever hold you in our hearts. Rest now, sweet dearest Queen Donna.

The family would like to thank the Huntsville Hospital, Hope Huntsville Palliative Care Team, Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre and St. Joseph Hospital for the unwavering support for Donna’s healthcare and well-being during her battle with cancer.

Donna’s wishes were to have loved ones remember her zest for life by way of a “Celebration of life” as to honour her spirit. The celebration will be held in the upcoming 2022 summer. The family ask that any gifts or donations be given to the “Terry Fox” run organization as she advocated for the cause strongly.
